Inventory
management includes inventory control and the standard reports that
accompany it. Inventory control can be maintained at both single and
multiple warehouse locations. Some of the standard reports include:
On-hand inventory including quantities and dollar values
Descending inventory in total dollar values
Non-use inventory
Expired inventory
Inventory count sheets
Inventory variance report
A-B-C inventory reports
Cycle count control
Critical item reports
Recommended stockroom items
Inventory
relief can be handled using 3 available methods. All 3 methods can
have controls from a fiscal and/or quantity point of view to assist in
supply cost control. Each method relieves inventory and charges the
appropriate department for the supplies utilized.
1. Department “shopping” in which a department “shops” in the stockroom from a customized list.
2. Remote
requisitioning giving departments the ability to request authorized
items through an internal network. Through this method the system will
create a pick list for the stockroom. The system will also
automatically create purchase orders for authorized items not in the
stockroom.
3. Automatic
lab floor replenishment using proactive materials management in which
specified quantities of specified items on the lab floor are kept at the
set laboratory supply controls and replenished as required
automatically.
All 3 methods can be used on a mix and match basis as required.
The available management information reports available using any or all 3 methods are:
Usage by item by department (both quantity and dollar value)
